Welding Fabrication

At NCAD we employ the Bluco High Tech Modular Fixturing Systems for welding.  It allows us to deliver accurate and consistent fixturing every time. Re-order with confidence, when a weldment can be fixtured years later with matching specifications as the original with the exact same quality results.

3D Weldment Design

The design of the fixture is done inside SolidWorks, a 3D CAD system, giving us the ability to define and fixture the completed weldment prior to the job every hitting the shop floor.  We work through any possible design issues or shortcomings.  This allows our staff to plan the work and effectively manage our customer’s expectations.

Design Implimentation

This weldment has multiple compound angles that were fixtured and constrained accurately and repeated multiple times for this sub-weldment. Having completed the fixture design in SolidWorks allowed for our fixture to be setup with precision.

TURN KEY WELDING

All of the machined components for this intermediate weldment were CNC cut on site in one of our many Vertical CNC Machining Centers.  Having complete manufacturing control allows us to hit the mark for best customer satisfaction.

CNC Parts for Weldment

By using a modular welding fixture system, the configuration can be changed to accommodate larger more sophisticated weldments.  This dynamic flexibility allows NCAD to provide a large size capacity to the end customer.

  Mig Machine
We use the power of Variable Frequency Technology.  Lincoln Chopper Technology® delivers more welding processes — MIG and flux-cored, along with excellent stick welding, TIG and advanced processes such as Power Mode™ and Pulse-on-Pulse®. In addition, future waveforms of special or improved welding processes can be downloaded into the Power MIG.

WELD SHOP VOCABULARY

  • (MIG) Metal Inert Gas Welding – is a semi-automatic or automatic arc welding process in which a continuous and consumable wire electrode and a shielding gas are fed through an automated welding gun.

(TIG) Tungsten Inert Gas Welding – is an arc welding process that uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode to produce the arc to melt a filler metal to create a weld.  The weld area is protected from atmospheric contamination be a shielding gas.
